The fuck have you been?!

You go missing for two years and now you just turn up out of the blue and expect everything to go back to normal?!

Why yes, I do.

Hello everyone, well, you, that one person who has viewed this page 11 times in over two years. How are you my friend? Oh, you died? That’s a shame.

Yeah, I'm back. Look at that. But I do not come back empty handed. Oh no. Tonight may be my first foray into a press event. Nintendo are holding an open session for people at the Baltic Art Gallery here in sunny Gateshead to show of the 3DS which hits the UK in March. The only issue being that because said event is in Gateshead, I don't expect Nintendo to get the 3DS's back after some young popinjay or scallywag nicks them all. Anyway, this is just a short message to say that I am back, and will be updating with my thoughts on news and games and that...

...and impressions of the 3DS when I get back tonight. Stay tuned!

You got your card game in my RTS

Man, finally got my hands on Battleforge today, and boy, what a first impression it's made. As I sit here looking for a quite night, I find theres a Battleforge demo somewhere on the Internet. My search didn't take me long, its right there on the Battleforge website. So after about an hour and a half of downloading the client and subsequent files to play the game I'm sitting there expecting the worst. Reasons go below;

Lets put this in a bit of perspective. I have a massive impulse for card games, you know they type, Magic: The Gathering and the sort. So when i find out that there bringing one out while watching the Sony conference at the 2006 E3 (talking bout Eye of Judgement here folks) I get all giddy and start throwing things at the monitor and screaming like a girl. "Man, that looks absolutely fucking epic" I said, (not just at what i had just seen but something actually impressive that Sony had come out with...RIDDDGEEE RACEE...yeah, anyway...

So lets fast forward to the time that EoJ comes out. I get it in the mail and open it, rush to the front room and start everything up. Wow. Man. I just got butt fucked. This is bad, this would have cost me loads if the orders for the booster decks had actually gone through.

That night i weeped gently into my pillow.

But about two weeks ago i find a interview on one of my regular sites about this game called Battleforge. A card game, but its an RTS.

Wut?

So I end up trawling the Internet for videos about this game that's getting me into a confusing, horrifically excitable mood and find out that it looks awesome. So instinctively I put a pre-order in, hoping that my wistful mood hadn't clouded my judgement. This brings us to where i am now. After playing the demo for a couple of hours I can honestly say I have made the right decision. This is a game that I think allot of people will overlook, but seriously, if you have the time give this one a whirl, is a blast and one of the most enjoyable RTS's i have played in a while.

Review Coming Shortly.

More Payne Please

Monday was a good day for many people, which is strange because Monday is never good. EVER. So while browsing as per my usual pre uni warm up, i came across this bad boy:

Max Payne 3 Announced!

My first impressions? Damn, that's a beard!

I seriously can't wait for this game, I'm a fan of the previous two (although two has to be my least favorite). I'm just enjoying the fact that they had to stick a beard on Max just so they could make him look more haggard. Give the guy a break! Oh, and not forgetting the fact like he just cracked some fool makes it look even awesomer. Along with this, Rockstar had a bit to say about whats going on in 3.

Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out.

Now don't get me wrong, but doesn't that sound like, well, the previous two games. Dude should invest in a plane ticket and get the hell out of there (but that wouldn't make a good game would it?

Hey, so yeah, hows it going? Welcome to the Controller! Il be your host for the coming months, years? (We can only hope...) Feel free to look around, unfortunately there's nothing much here at the moment, but il make sure that is flipped on its head, and entertain you with my own thoughts and opinions, reviews and previews of coming games and anything else that might come about on a very drunk and confusing Friday night.

Thank you and, well, on your marks, get set, GO!
